Types of charging stations

AC (alternating current) charging stations

These stations are cost-effective, not demanding on the electricity network, and, depending on the specific type of electric vehicle, will charge the battery in a few hours (according to the performance of the station and the capacity of the electric vehicle; the time usually ranges between 4 and 6 hours); 70% of the battery charging level is reached in 1 or 2 hours. The station power ranges from 3.7 kW for single-phase ones to 22 kW for three-phase ones.

DC (direct-current) charging stations

Fast chargers can increase the range of the electric vehicle by one hundred or more kilometers in a few minutes. They are demanding on the electricity network. Their output usually ranges between 40 kW and 100 kW, sometimes up to 150 kW (when more technologies, such as cabinets, are required in addition to the stand).
